Compound Release Aids

Used in compound archery, a release aid is a device with a trigger mechanism held in the archer’s drawing hand used to release the bow string. Compared to a finger release, using a release aid gives a more precise repeatable release, leading to more consistent arrow grouping. Release aids come in three main categories: wrist release, thumb release and back tension release.
